WOW! 2021’S SUPER SERIES
Ozark, Atlanta, Parasite, Clarice, Nine Perfect Strangers+

Like the films we were hoping for in 2020, some of our favorite TV shows halted production too. That means we may have a packed TV schedule for 2021, PROVOKRs. It could include returning series like Succession, an adaptation of Parasite, and everything in between.
RETURNING SHOWS
THE WITCHER
In 2020 Henry Cavill became a star in more ways than one, and the attention came from The Witcher’s success. The video game adaptation will return to Netflix in 2021, but there is no definite date.
SUCCESSION
Season two of HBO’s Succession ended with a cliffhanger. That made it more disappointing when the pandemic halted show production. The dysfunctional but entertaining Roy family was set to return in November.
OZARK
The show had a shocking ending that no one expected, but Jason Bateman and company will return to Netflix for Ozark’s season four. Julia Garner is also coming off a hot year after starring in the drama The Assistant.
BARRY
Finally! Bill Hader is back as a hitman with a love of theater in HBO’s Barry. By the time season three rolls around, it will have been two years since we watched the dark comedy.
THE HANDMAID’S TALE
2020 marked the first year without The Handmaid’s Tale. Elisabeth Moss still had a fantastic year, but we can’t wait to see her reprise her role as June in Hulu’s original series.
ATLANTA
Three years is too long with no Atlanta. In 2021, Donald Glover’s comedic flair will be on TV once again, this time with an FX to Hulu exclusive that will make it easier to keep up.
BABYLON BERLIN
Netflix is supposedly gaining rights to the most recent season of Babylon Berlin and will hit the streamer come March.
SEX EDUCATION
Season one of Sex Education felt fresh. Season two was insanely impressive. We can’t wait to see what Netflix offers for season three.
EUPHORIA
We’ve already gotten two small doses of Euphoria since its season one finale, but, honestly, it wasn’t enough. Luckily Zendaya and Hunter Schafer will reunite for season two sometime in the new year.
NEW OBSESSIONS
COWBOY BEBOP
John Cho leads the cast of the live-action adaptation of the popular anime Cowboy Bebop. The highly anticipated series will debut on Netflix.
PARASITE LIMITED SERIES
Directors Bong Joon-ho and Adam McKay are teaming up for a killer adaptation of Parasite. Joon-ho says he has so much more material to use in a series. The duo is eyeing a six-episode order with Mark Ruffalo in the lead role.
LORD OF THE RINGS
We’ve longed for some of our favorite franchises to be turned into TV shows. Lord of the Rings is at the top of that list — and it’s going to be the most expensive series of all time. Take that, Game of Thrones.
NINE PERFECT STRANGERS
From the author of Big Little Lies and the man who adapted it for HBO comes another thrilling watch. The merging stories of nine strangers bring about an ensemble cast of 2021: Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Luke Evans, Samara Weaving, Michael Shannon, Manny Jacinto, Regina Hall, and Bobby Cannavale.
GANGS OF LONDON
Gangs of London was set for streaming in 2020, but the UK SkyTV show will appear in the US in 2021.
IT’S A SIN
Set in London, It’s A Sin follows a group of friends for a decade during the AIDS epidemic.
CLARICE
It’s the prequel we’ve been waiting for: Clarice from Silence of the Lambs is finally getting the lead treatment. Rebecca Breeds will have her breakout performance as an FBI agent. The CBS series doesn’t have a release date yet, but we believe it’s going to be spectacular.
