You Need To Watch This Twisty Trailer
The new trailer for The Woman in the Window is a dazzling thriller with surveillance, murder, mystery, and crime. An agoraphobe, played by Amy Adams, witnessed the stabbing of her neighbor, played by Julianne Moore, from her home window. Her witnessing of this event sparks a series of cover ups, as Moore’s family tries to cover up her possible murder. Director Joe Fox adapted this film from a book by author J. Finn, which follows Dr. Anna Fox as she navigates through the psychologically harrowing experience of seeing her only friend murdered and leads to a series of self-doubts related to her fear of the outside. Amy Adams seems to deliver a stunning performance and the cast is packed with stars like Gary Oldman, Anthony Mackie, and more.
This movie is brought to us by the same studio which produced Gone Girl and the trailer has the same feel as the David Fincher film. Gary Oldman plays an abusive husband who tries to cover up the murder of his wife but the film is so suspenseful and enigmatic that its hard to tell if he really is the killer or if Amy Adam’s character has imagined all these events. The look of the film is very stark as the color palette emulates the same greys and darker shades as a Fincher feature. It’s hard to distinguish between real and imaginary and the film looks like it will take you on a wild ride with its action and suspense. The film from 20th Century Fox and is expected to have widespread release by May 2020.
Fox’s trailer only gives you bits of information but the shots are so exciting as to entice you to watch for the cinematography alone. Here, at PROVOKR, we are looking forward to the thriller and seeing these great actors give powerful, weighty performances.
