Beach House

Black and White Electro-Indie Psychadelia

BY: Zak Wojnar

American pop music may be dominated by scantily-dressed vixens with killer dance moves and millions of Twitter followers, but there’s still plenty of room for psychedelic rock and roll groups like Beach House. A unique cross-section of Jimi Hendrix, Jack White, and Tangerine Dream, Beach House first formed in 2004 and is gearing up to release their seventh album, the appropriately-titled 7.

To promote the new record, the band has spontaneously released six music videos. Instead of a traditional narrative or cinematic imagery, the videos play out more like trippy screensavers with black and white patterns splashing across the screen like a kaleidoscope caught between the 1960s and the 21st century.

7 by Beach House is out now.
