DRAKE IS POETRY IN MOTION
The Film - When To Say When

Drake is an icon. Drake’s chart-topping music caters to hip hop and R&B fans and impresses other artists who aspire to win Grammy awards and break barriers. His music is addictive and inspiring, and we give listen after listen, in an attempt to capture each verse. Here, we have two hits from his 2020 album, Dark Lane Demo Tapes, an album that featured artists like Giveon, Chris Brown, and Future.

Dark Lane Demo Tapes features unknown and renowned artists, exposing talent and adding to Drake’s already successful brand. In this video, Drake walks around his mansion, smoking, drinking, and partying with his people. Lyrics like, “33 years, I gave that to the game,” show how dedicated Drake is to his work. The video is directed by Theo Skudra and produced by Christian Tyler and the production company Colossale. The production coordinator is Cameron Frangopoulous. Drake made a name for himself through a steady succession of hits, including the song God’s Plan with over a billion listens on Spotify and “Laugh Now Cry Later” with Lil Durk, which gets heavy airplay on the radio.

Skudra’s vision in this video is to show off the city of Toronto. Restaurants, hotels, and apartments are shown to sample Drake’s daily life. He is stacking bricks of money in a home safe in one scene, just one way to portray opulence. At 2:23, the song switches to another hit on Drake’s album, “Chicago Freestyle,” introduced by Giveon. The song has a line, “meet me by the Bean,” referencing Chicago’s famous statue. This is followed by images of Drake riding in a car, rapping lyrics to his song.

Drake is dynamic, and his music is astounding. His presence in fashion is also influential. His OVO brand includes owl-hoodie sweatshirts, tees, and shoes representing the 6 God’s hype and class in the market. We see all these articles of clothing throughout the video, repped by him. PROVOKR already loves Drake and looks forward to what’s next.
