DUA LIPA’S WE’RE GOOD
Getting Down + Going Down Turns The Tides

Dua Lipa has done it again. In the video for “We’re Good,” lobsters are extracted from a tank and cooked on a luxury ocean liner while the singer does a dance number with a full band as she undergoes multiple costume changes. Don’t worry — it’s way more interesting than that because the lobsters are in love.

As a flood occurs in the dining room and everyone vacates the premises, Dua Lipa extends her body posture fully with each note and sings along with the lyrics to the song. She sings, “let’s at least agree to go our separate ways,” agreeing to end a relationship that has run its (full) course and opening up to see new people as this relationship ends. A pipe breaks in the cruise ship and the lobster can no longer be cooked. This leads to a flood that has water break through the entirety of the cruise liner. In Titanic fashion, the ship sinks and the passengers all take life boats out to water to escape from drowning. The video concludes with a lobster swimming away from the ship in the ocean after its capsized, promoting the freedom of the crustacean after the ship is evacuated and Dua Lipa escapes from the flooded vessel.

The film is produced by Iconoclast and Natan Schottenfels, making the Production Service as Shelter.film. The production team is Dua Lipa’s and her cast includes Alex Clark, Jessica Castro, Alec Gaston, Bryan Hernandez. Dua Lipa sings and performs throughout the whole piece and she looks stunning as always in glamorous, retro gowns. Directors Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia make an action-packed set design that Dua Lipa lights up with her flashy performance. The majority of the video are cooks boiling lobsters and spoiled passengers devouring lobster entrees. It’s a beautiful scene and the set design is elegant and poised. We love this video, and know you will too.
