Green Day’s Trippy Video
A striking lyric video for "Bang Bang"

It’s been four years since Green Day—the Oakland trio of Billy Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool—released a new album. The band recently sent out a warning flare that one is on its way by releasing the first single “Bang Bang” from the upcoming album titled Revolution Radio. After the “Bang Bang” lyric video was released, the band’s frontman Armstrong told Rolling Stone that the song is “about the culture of mass shooting that happens in America mixed with narcissistic social media. There’s this sort of rage happening, but it’s also now being filmed and we all have ourselves under surveillance. To me, that is so twisted. To get into the brain of someone like that was freaky. It freaked me out. After I wrote it, all I wanted to do was get that out of my brain because it just freaked me out.”
