007 SHORT: New Women Agents
Ana de Armas & Lashana Lynch Shine
This special short film from the producers of No time To Die is all about the two beautiful and powerful new agents played by Lashana Lynch and Ana de Armas. They are presented as tough and highly skilled agents, yet true to the Bond franchise they are quite beautiful. Lashana Lynch’s character, Nomi has a bit of a cocky attitude and Ana de Armas’ Paloma is utterly intense. Lynch’s character remarks to Daniel Craig’s James Bond, “The world has moved on Commander Bond.” To which Bond asks quizzically, “Are you a double O?” Both Nomi and Paloma are, thankfully, allies of James Bond.
The actresses trained methodically for their role in military style. Ana de Armas was grateful for the support of her fight choreographers. She wanted every fight scene to be very authentic, even in a short black dress.
Director Cary Joji Fukunaga provided many strong roles for women in the script and looks like he delivered another winner in the 007 series of films.
