Nick Knight, a long time photographer and video collaborator with British-rapper Tino Kamal, recently released a video that uses a 360 degree perspective. The result is an interactive music video, “I Ain’t Gotta Lie,” that feels like a live-performance. The psychedelic visuals mimic sound waves throughout the piece. Knight’s genius is evident in his cinematography with the 360 degree surround-sound and images. The opening shot is smoke and fog which adds angst to Kamal’s explosive piece. This transitions into a smoke filled screen that transfixes viewers. The use of multiple body doubles of Kamal confuse and entice the senses as shades of white and black fill the screen.

Kamal has produced music for the past decade. He was also stabbed in London and developed an awareness of social issues that affected urban areas. This dynamic and gritty artist is perfect for the visual style of Nick Knight, a photographer since 1982. He founded SHOWstudio, an award-winning visual enterprise. Knight’s work has been published in Harper Collins and he’s mounted exhibitions for London’s Natural History Museum and other prominent venues.

“I Ain’t Gonna Lie” is both designed and produced by the fashion website SHOWstudio. SHOWstudio has collaborated with other powerful voices in fashion: Lady Gaga, Alexander McQueen, Kate Moss, John Galliano and more. This video pulls the viewer in and injects a feeling of anarchy in Kamal’s music. We hope this exciting video is enough to pull you in to Knight’s and Kamal’s world.
