The Grudge Featurette That Will Terrify You
The Grudge is a terrifying film that explores death and rage in a haunting journey of unsettled ghosts. These ghosts attack and torture the living with an intent is to spread discomfort across spiritual planes. The trailer comes out January 3 and teases the horror ahead. Sam Raimi produces, Nicolas Pesce co-writes and directs this project that promises to startle and impress all around.
Its aesthetic is gritty and rough. It also casts a powerful lens on one’s perspective of this terrifying world. The haunting imagery is reminiscent of other Grudge movies, but has a different thesis because of actors like John Cho. Raimi promises a more intense experience than in the past. The first Grudge premiered in 2004, under the direction of Takashi Shimizu. It got mixed reviews from fans. But, the concept is classic and should gain new fans with this next chapter.
Pesce’s powerful aesthetic and Sony Pictures’ dynamism creates excitement with this entry into the genre. And, Grudge’s strong script could ensure a hit-in-the-making with widespread release. Lin Shayne, a veteran of the horror movies is in all three installments and adds even more hype to the film.
