Insomniac Presents Psycho Circus 2019
The trailer for Escape Psycho Circus is exciting and action packed. The story follows newlyweds who get tangled up with a psychopathic gang of murderers. The couple crosses paths with the criminals at a small motel marked Number 13. The misfits are made up and disguised in circus clothes. However, it’s hard to tell if the makeup is a joke or used to cover up freakish faces of the gang members.
The murderers’ rampage is accompanied by tracks from the electronic music fest, Escape Halloween Music Festival held around Halloween. The tracklist includes “Shelter” from ATLiens on Bassrush Records, “Possession” from producer i_o on mau5trap, “Tantra” again from ATLiens and “WareBauhaus” from Bunny. In the story arc of the video, the gang captures the wife and puts her under a voodoo spell.. After putting her into the trance, the murderers introduce a new killer, the Witchdoctor. The Witchdoctor grabs a strand of the husband’s hair and attaches it to a voodoo doll. Then, the wife is brought before him again and this time she has a knife. The Witchdoctor manipulates the doll and the wife kills her husband.
Escape Psycho Circus is held in Southern California as an Insomniac Event. The party features artists from all genres of EDM and has been held annually for the last 9 years. The trailer is shot energetically and mimics the look and excitement of the festival. The concept of a partially fictional trailer enhances the festival’s promotion. It’s entertaining to get wrapped up in a scary story and the music. Cuts between imagery and neon colors make this visually appealing.
