Skin is a Stunner
Oscar winning short and a summer feature film

With his first Oscar for Skin, Israeli director Guy Nativv and his producing partner and wife, Jaimie Ray Newman are planning a release of their similarly themed feature version. “We have a baby Skin and now we have a feature Skin,” the director said smiling in the press room at the Academy Awards. The short was written by Nativv and Sharon Maymont.
Fox Searchlight announced it acquired the short, which won an Oscar for Best Live-Action Short Film. Chairmen Nancy Utley and Stephen Gilula said, “We’re thrilled to work with Guy Nativv on his brilliant Skin, it has a powerful message with excellent direction and acting.” The short will be made available on Fox Searchlight social media channels. This is the fourth short film Fox Searchlight has acquired recently.
The full-length feature will be released theatrically July 26. The film tells a true story of redemption set against the racial violence of the Neo-Nazi movement. Both films are no holds barred anti racial violence stories. The short tells the story of a clash between two families after a young white boy of a Neo-Nazi family has an innocent exchange with an African American man at the grocery store. The clash between the families leads to shocking consequences, and there is no redemption here, only poetic justice.
