A mashup of costumed heroes saving the day!
Some film critics may dismiss action-packed superhero movies as a recent and hopefully passing fad, but we’ve got news for you: superheroes are more popular than ever, and film-lover Clara Darko created this video montage to prove it.
A professional editor, Darko put together this epic highlight reel comprised entirely of superhero movies released between 1978 and 2006. Decades before Robert Downey Jr donned the iconic Iron Man armor, and long before Ezra Miller suited up as The Flash, Christopher Reeve made us all “believe a man can fly” in Richard Donner‘s Superman. In 1989, Michael Keaton and Tim Burton stunned audiences with their gothic film noir Batman, the personification of dark and brooding vengeance. And in 2002, Tobey Maguire blew away all expectations when he starred as Marvel‘s Spider-Man in Sam Raimi‘s bold and generation-defining movie.
The greatest superhero movies portray their protagonists as larger-than-life, yet somehow intimate and relatable, and that’s why these films will always be popular, iconic, and beloved by nostalgic lifelong fans and future generations yet to come.
