Under the Wave is a thrilling and empowering film about nature, survival, and overcoming obstacles. The film is directed by Denis Lagrange and stars Aude Lionet-Chafour, who is the protagonist. The crisp visuals render the fridgedness and ferocity of the ocean, as the protagonist (Lionet-Chafour) tries to overcome monstrous waves which come at her. The sound design masterfully blends with the visuals to create a powerful piece of media.

Images move from surfing to crashing to swimming, as Lionet-Chafour’s character dramatically swims to the surface of the water after being knocked down, ready to attack and conquer the waves which formerly crushed her.
