Valencia Road

A strange, eerie short you won't soon forget

ELO Films is a young production company started by Logan George and Celine Held, two actors/writers/directors and movie-making activists. Their mission statement, “We believe in film as a platform for social change,” shapes the types of movies they are making: thoughtful short films including Mouse and Fever.

Their latest project, Valencia Road, is a minimalist short which surprises in its ability to suck you in and spit you out, much like life itself. A woman driving to an important destination finds herself sidetracked by a car wreck on the side of the road. To say exactly what happens would do a disservice to would-be viewers, so all we can say is: watch it! It’s only seven minutes long and you won’t soon forget it.

ELO has more shorts in the works, as well as a feature-length motion picture, Little, about a child and her heroin-addicted mother living in the abandoned subway tunnels beneath New York City. Set against this unfiltered, harrowing backdrop, this is the city they don’t show in the tourism ads. We foresee great things in the future of ELO Films.
