WEAR ME LIKE WATER
A Love Letter To The Female Body

Dazed has released a new video which showcases female bodies in all shapes and sizes. Sinéad O’Dwyer and photographer Steph Wilson’s project embraces women in all their glory. ‘Wear Me Like Water’ is a reflective and colorful piece which offers the viewer a series of women bathing and lounging poolside. Some images involve nudity, while others show off kaleidoscopic bathing suits that reveal the contours and shapes of their wearers. Bodies and clothing flow as effortlessly as the water the models swim in.
Sinéad O’Dwyer is an MA Fashion graduate whose work often deals with body dysmorphia and how women struggle with body image. She wants to ease that tension and highlight the beauty and an appreciation of the female form. ‘Wear Me Like Water’ is a love letter to women and femininity itself. O’Dwyer’s vision and Steph Wilson’s photography are distinct with powerful wide shots and breathtaking close ups that perfectly capture emotion. Some group women with all different body types to show their universality. The light patterns bouncing off the water plus careful placement of foliage throughout show how nature and the varied shapes intersect.
This video is another cool project from the Dazed production catalogue. It showcases new talent and puts the vision of this young artist on full display. It’s not easy creating and communicating this kind of vision, but O’Dwyer and Wilson did and this video has an authentic feel. PROVOKR is super excited about this project and your reactions. ‘Wear Me Like Water’ is an exciting piece with a powerful message.
