The Dark and The Sexy YSL

A trippy video explores Tokyo's underworld

Clearly inspired by the futuristic British series, Black Mirror, director Nathalie Canguilhem (who last season shot YSL muse Charlotte Gainsbourg strutting beautifully in a parking lot), captures the dark and sexy side of Tokyo. Argentinian model Mica Arganaraz (another favorite of Saint Laurent Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello) plays a neon-lit goth-geisha, as well as a stylish commuter running away from a masked warrior on the Tokyo underground.

Models pose with motorbikes, make out in clubs, and basically look amazing despite the harsh lighting. The clothing, all from the YSL Winter 2017 collection, is sexy leather streetwear. The narrator, a robotic computer voice, recites Oscar Wilde‘s romantic poem, Her Voice, which ends with the words, “I have my beauty, you your art / Nay, do not start / One world was not enough for two / Like me and you.” And the two lovers kiss.
