Act Out: Mad Men

INT. LIVING ROOM – DAY

DON enters his posh but untidy apartment. He looks around for his wife.

DON
Megan!? Where are you?!

MEGAN walks briskly out of the bedroom in a thin robe. She’s holding a wastebasket.

MEGAN
(standoffish)
Oh. You’re home.

DON
So are you.
(beat)
What happened?

MEGAN
Nothing.

DON
You just left without me?

He begins to walk towards her.

MEGAN
I was upset.

DON
That’s clear. About what?

MEGAN
Because my apartment is filthy!

Don puts his briefcase and clothes on the ottoman.

DON
Where’s the girl?

MEGAN
I sent her home.

She begins to undo her robe. Don goes to fix a drink. When he looks over, Megan is in her lingerie.

DON
What are you doing?

Megan picks up the wastebasket.

MEGAN
I’m cleaning up. I don’t want to get sweaty.

DON
Like that?

MEGAN
Don’t you look at me.

Megan begins to tidy up.

DON
I’m talking to you.

MEGAN
I’m cleaning up.

DON
Really?

MEGAN
Stop looking at me. You’re not allowed to look at me.

DON
Then put some clothes on.

MEGAN
I said stop it! You don’t deserve it.

DON
Come on!

MEGAN
You don’t like presents. You don’t like nice things…

Megan gets on all fours, with her rear to Don. She begins to scrub the carpet, looking back occasionally. Don approaches.

MEGAN
Besides… you’re too old. I don’t need an old person. You probably couldn’t do it anyway.

Don grabs her arm.

MEGAN
Don’t.

DON
Get up.

MEGAN
No! I don’t wan’t people to think you’re getting this.

DON
(getting in close)
You want it so badly.

MEGAN
I don’t want it! I don’t want you!

He goes for a kiss. She jerks away.

MEGAN
You don’t get to have this. Go sit over there! All you get to do is watch.

He grabs her tighter. She MOANS. He forces his mouth to hers. The two tumble to the ground kissing. She wraps her legs around him.
