This is a collection of spectacular photographs, selected interviews and letters including new material from the Avedon Foundation. “Avedon’s France: Old Work, New Look “ is a full telling of Avedon’s restless pursuit of new ways of looking at the world. In addition to five portfolios of french sitters spanning a lifetime of portraiture, the book looks at Avedon’s apprenticeship to Alexey Brodovitch, his encounters with French fashion and his idealized version of Paris. “Avedon’s France: Old Work, New Look “ is filled with breathtaking images and an amazing collection of Avedon history.
