Post Malone, the multi-platinum singer-songwriter with a colossal collection of 43 tattoos (maybe more), just unveiled his latest creation, Maison No. 9, a French rosé wine. “Rosé is for when you want to get a little fancy,” said Malone. To his fans, it may seem a bit of a departure. Just last year, he collaborated with Bud Light and revealed his custom Bud Light can, which features an image of his face, autograph and illustrations of medieval dragons, barbed wire and swords. Malone has a love of the Mediterranean lifestyle and enjoys a refreshing glass of rosé. “Maison No. 9 goes down smooth,” he said and “it’s a nice switch-up and I have been thinking about doing my own wine for a while.”

The name Maison No. 9 was inspired by Malone’s favorite tarot card, the Nine of Swords and represents overcoming daily challenges. The pink drink hails from the Provence region and is a collaborative partnership with Malone’s friend James Morrissey of Global Brand Equities and Dre London, a long-time music manager and founder of London Entertainment. London told Forbes that Malone “acquired, expensive wine taste” after befriending actor Mark Wahlberg.

Post Malone is one more celebrity on the list of notables who have branded their drink of choice. Movie star George Clooney, business partner Rande Gerber (Cindy Crawford’s husband) and property developer Mike Meldman created Casamigos Tequila. The trio launched it as an international brand in 2013 and sold it for a billion dollars within four years.

Justin Timberlake, transitioned from boyband N*Sync to successful solo artist, has branded his tequila, Sauza 901, named after his hometown area code of Memphis, Tennessee.

Real Housewives of New York, Bethany Frankel created the Skinnygirl cocktail in 2011. She later sold the company to beverage giant Beam Suntory for an estimated $100 million!

From feature films to academy awards to fine wine, director Francis Ford Coppola owns a historic winery in Napa Valley and produces award-winning wines. In an interview with Forbes, Coppola said “I made a sparkling wine for my little nine-year-old daughter Sofia, and told her one day it would be served at her wedding, and then another in admiration of my wife Eleanor, and I realized that little by little I was turning all my relatives into products. But they were delicious wines and expressed my love and admiration for my family.”

Even the controversial and creepy rock star Marilyn Manson has a signature brand of absinthe called Mansinthe. It’s green, strong, distilled from herbs, and produced in Switzerland.

Though not every celebrity endeavor is a success. Pharrell Williams said he created Q Qream liqueur “to celebrate the beautiful independent and sophisticated women of today.” The deal with partner Diageo North America went south and the hip-hop star filed a complaint in federal court seeking $5m in damages.

But so far, so good for Post Malone’s Maison No. 9. During a two-day pre-sale, all 50,000 bottles of rosé sold wiping out the company’s first round of inventory. The summer’s most anticipated $22 bottle of wine is back in stock and Malone says, “you’re all going to love it.” Cheers!
