At the 2019 Emmys, there was one clear winner: Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The writer, creator and actress’ show Fleabag picked up four wins, including Outstanding Comedy Series. Perhaps her most-deserving win came when episode one of season two won for best writing.

The episode is like a 22-minute play, all taking place in the confines of a dimly lit restaurant full of patrons who want to seem better off than they actually are. There is awkward family silence. A lot of tension. The introduction of the hottest priest you’ve ever seen. A miscarriage. A fight. Dialogue that would make Quentin Tarantino feel threatened. Oh, and you can’t forget that iconic jumpsuit.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge puts all of herself into her writing, which is why it’s hard to see anyone else in the main role. There has never been a better series premiere than that of Fleabag’s season two. So much happens in its short duration. It’s not afraid to go to a dark place and make it funny, which makes it perfect for a night in. So grab a glass of wine, eight of your friends and act out the full series two premiere below:
