Last month PROVOKR linked its readers to The Trouble with Sex podcast hosted by Dr. Tammy Nelson. As a sexologist, certified sex therapist, and relationship therapist, Dr. Tammy brings 35 years of expertise to her audience as she explores all facets of modern love, sex, and relationships. “People who might have a platform in their own life about sex are telling their story in a way that is revealing, not only about who they are as professionals, who they are as people,” said Dr. Tammy. “I think it’s interesting to hear these people that might be at the top of their game.”

A recent The Trouble with Sex episode explores the world’s oldest profession. Get to know Olivia La Rue, wife, mother, courtesan, and madame, as she opens up to Dr. Tammy about her life as a sex worker and why she feels it’s her spiritual calling. Her companies, Courtesan Consulting and The Biggest Little Escort Service mentor aspiring courtesans while providing companionship to clients near and far. Olivia shares the three laws for anyone in the service business, “don’t be desperate, don’t count your money before it’s in your hand, and get paid for the attempt.”

Olivia is open and candid as she discusses boundaries, expectations, and love. An unexpected guest, one of Olivia’s clients, also joins the chat to add another layer to this revealing conversation and describes his arrangement with Olivia as “simple and complicated.” Then, of course, Dr. Tammy asks Olivia to share her opinion of The Trouble with Sex.
