What do you think when you hear the word documentary? Perhaps you think of documentaries you watched in high school history classes, where middle-aged men dryly explained historical events. Maybe it’s the numerous and unsettling true crime reports. But, who said they couldn’t also be sexy? We’ve compiled a list of 5 sexy must-see documentaries and where to find them. Why 5 you ask? According to mathematicians, 5 is a sexy prime number.

DREAM BOAT

Dream Boat is a cruise ship that sets sail just once a year. It’s a 7-day cruise for gay men only. This 2017 documentary follows 5 men, from different countries, on a Dream Boat cruise. All are looking for fast love and sex on the high seas, while dealing with their insecurities. Dream Boat is now streaming on Netflix.

ESCORTS

A lot of films and TV shows are about high-class call girls, but this 2015 British documentary takes us inside the world of two escorts. It follows Cookie Jane and Emily B., who conduct business, almost exclusively, on the internet. Escorts is streaming on Amazon Prime through a Best of British Television subscription.

HOT GIRLS WANTED

The sex industry isn’t always sexy. This 2015 documentary explores a group of 18 and 19-year-old women who become amateur porn performers. Told through interviews with adult entertainers, it takes a look at just how easy it is to get swept up into porn. Hot Girls Wanted is streaming on Netflix.

RESPECTABLE: THE MARY MILLINGTON STORY

Truth is stranger than fiction. That’s the story that emerges, in this 2016 documentary about Mary Millington, Britain’s de facto sex superstar of the 1970s. The documentary chronicles Millington’s ascent to sexual stardom, shirking traditional British culture and her tragic death at the age of 33. Respectable: The Mary Millington Story is streaming on Hulu.

ROCCO

Like Hot Girls Wanted, Rocco also explores the world of pornography, this time through the eyes of Italian porn performer, producer and director, Rocco Siffredi. This 2016 documentary lifts the veil on not only Siffredi but on the adult entertainment business as a whole. It paints a picture of an industry that isn’t only sexy but is sometimes violent. Rocco is streaming on Netflix.
