Dylan O’Brien’s comeback looks a bit different than other young stars. The Teen Wolf breakout has chosen a quieter return, choosing “smaller” projects. It’s vastly different from where his career was heading before a stunt accident on the set of The Maze Runner sequel put his career on hold.
It appeared Dylan was on his way to leading action films before a near-fatal accident made him hesitant to do his own stunts. He took a few years off from acting. When he came back, his career steered away from the usual heartthrob storyline. Instead of landing leading roles, Dylan has taken to starring in independent films.
Taylor Swift reignited his career when she offered him to star in the music video for the 10-minute version of “All Too Well” opposite Stranger Things’s Sadie Sink. He then took on a more villainous role in the Hulu streaming movie Not Okay. Since then, he’s mixed up his projects.
O’Brien is on a hot streak, and his star is rising even more. From impressively portraying Dan Aykroyd in Saturday Night, to stripping it back in the heartfelt Twinless, and the absolute carnage that was Send Help alongside Rachel McAdams, Dylan has shown the range he’s capable of.
Dylan will continue to show everyone what he’s made of with the upcoming AppleTV film Being Heumann, adapted from the memoir of the same. HIs buzziest upcoming project has him starring across Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams in a dark, comedic thriller called Apparatus. But that’s not all, he will also star in Bulls, an erotic thriller starring Lewis Pullman and Kaia Gerber.
Dylan is more than booked and busy. With his ability to mold into his projects so effortlessly, Dylan’s career will be long and impressive. Keep an eye on him. He just might be a huge film success.
