NYMPHOMANIAC: VOL. 1

Part one of this two-part drama by Danish auteur Lars von Trier recounts the exploits of a self-professed nymphomaniac, Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg), as she details her past erotic relationships to a man named Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård), who saved her from a beating. Volume I premiered in its entirety at the 64th International Berlin Film Festival. Rumor has it that von Trier initially wanted his actors to actually have sex on camera for this film. That did not end up happening and instead porn actors were used as body doubles for the graphic sex scenes.

This fascinating movie also stars some of our favorite actors, Shia LaBeouf, Christian Slater, Uma Thurman, Willem Dafoe, and Stacy Martin.
