Coming off a Golden Globe win for playing absolute badass Perfidia Beverly Hills in One Battle After Another, and an otherworldly, stunning, and sexy AMA performance, Teyana Taylor is unsurprisingly continuing to evolve in her career. After directing the short film that accompanied her latest album, the polished, yet raw, Escape Room, Taylor will be making her feature directorial debut with Get Lite, a film starring Euphoria’s Storm Reid, which will be released theatrically in 2027. The coming of age story follows a sheltered dancer who begins to find themselves — and their dance style — on the Harlem streets and the NYC subway.

In addition to Get Lite, Taylor continues to champion diverse artistry through her female-led company, The Aunties. The venture, co-founded by Taylor and Coco Gilbert in 2017, has a studio space in Atlanta set up and stocked for creatives to be their most imaginative and productive selves.

Teyana can also be seen this upcoming July on Netflix in the film 72 Hours opposite Kevin Hart, whom she lovingly (and hilariously) teased as part of The Roast of Kevin Hart (also on Netflix). There really isn’t anything Teyana won’t look good doing…even playing a dancing grandpa at a wedding in an SNL sketch when she hosted earlier this year.

If you somehow aren’t yet convinced of her incredible, transformative ability as an artist, Taylor also won a season of The Masked Singer while dressed as a (gorgeous) firefly. Or…I would suggest you buy the Air Jordan Concrete Rose sneakers she recently released with Nike…but they quickly sold out. She is also enrolled in culinary school to help turn “passion” into “purpose”, as she told Marie Claire.
