THE CHOSEN ONE
Hollywood Directors Choose Elisabeth Moss

Born July 24, 1982 in Los Angeles, California to musician parents, Elisabeth Moss always had artistic aspirations. Initially, she wanted to become a dancer, but after she started landing guest and co-starring roles in TV, her path changed. And, we are lucky it did since she is now an A-list talent.
Moss started acting in the early 90s, but it wasn’t until she was cast as Zoey Bartlet, in Aaron Sorkin’s political series, The West Wing, that she really started to gain recognition. Of course, her role as Peggy Olson on the hit AMC show, Mad Men, catapulted Moss to stardom. Since that series wrapped in 2015, Moss has shown no signs of slowing down.
After Mad Men, Moss remained busy, taking on higher profile roles in both film and TV. This year, she’s had leading roles in four separate films: Her Smell, Light of My Life, Us and The Kitchen. In 2019, Moss also continued to star in the third season of the dystopian-fiction show, The Handmaid’s Tale.
Moss’ 2020 will be busier than 2019. Season four of The Handmaid’s Tale is coming in the new year and, somehow, she finds time for multiple film projects. Those projects sound exciting! Up first, is the dramatic biopic Shirley about horror writer, Shirley Jackson. If you are unfamiliar with Jackson’s books, you may recognize the Netflix series, The Haunting of Hill House, based on her book. In it, Moss plays Shirley Jackson.
After Shirley, Moss stars in the latest thriller from Blumhouse, The Invisible Man. But, it’s not based on the H.G. Wells or Ralph Ellison novels of the same name. This film follows a woman, Cecilia (Moss), plagued by an invisible being, whom she believes to be her abusive ex.
And finally, we couldn’t be more excited for Next Goal Wins, when Moss teams up with one of our favorite filmmakers, Taika Waititi. Next Goal Wins is the true story of a Dutch coach who takes on the seemingly impossible task of turning the America Samoan soccer team into winners.
With those projects and many more lined up, Moss may have another great year ahead. We couldn’t be more excited!
