Disco is a musical art that spans generations. Music revivalists like Daft Punk have reapplied the 20th-century disco sound to 21st-century songs like “Get Lucky.” Artists like Nile Rodgers helped invent disco music with tracks like “I Feel You.” The disco resurgence is on — pushing leading artists like Harry Styles and Sabrina Carpenter to create popular dance bangers with strong disco melodies.
Jessie Ware’s 2026 album Superbloom embodied the genre’s feel. Single “Ride,” an electro-Western bop, urges listeners to take to the floor and “ride my love.” Harry Styles implemented the disco mindset in his latest album, Kiss All the Time, Disco Occasionally, with songs like “Dance No More,” which hit #26 on Billboard’s Hot 100.
Meanwhile, more underground artists have gotten disco fever, too. Pop singer Chloe Jane’s “Feel the Love” comes complete with a 4-on-the-floor drumbeat and syncopated hand claps, while Rasmus Faber’s “Stranger on My Shoulder” puts an EDM spin on the genre.
And who hasn’t heard Sabrina Carpenter’s disco-infused hits? The artist has made a career out of danceable tracks like “Tears” and the shimmery “Please Please Please.” She was even enlisted for Madonna’s CONFESSIONS II for “Bring Your Love,” a single that feels ripped from a Studio 54 playlist. Madonna also called up old pal Kylie Minogue for a guest verse on the remix of recent hit “Love Sensation.”
With danceable beats and songs made to get you on your feet, new artists are taking a cue from what came before, creating their own version of disco.
