Kid Cudi New Doc
"Creating something new and helping people..."
Kid Cudi is giving fans an up-close look at his life with the new documentary “A Man Named Scott: The Kid Cudi Story.”
The film follows his rise to fame, starting with the release of his debut Man on the Moon: The End of the Day in 2009. It will also show the rapper taking a deeper look at his career choices and struggles, focusing on his relationship with his fans.
“Creating something new and helping people, it’s always been an escape for me, and it’s freeing,” he says in a trailer for the doc. “Everything I make has to help people in some way.”
Many fans have shared how Cudi’s lyrics have helped cope with their mental health issues – SNL’s Pete Davidson says that he “wouldn’t be here” without Man on the Moon.
In another quote from the trailer, he shares, “People look up to me, but I’m not a happy person. I felt like a fraud. That’s what drove me to escape from reality. I sacrificed the privacy of my life and put my story out there to help others. That’s always been my mission. I’m not done yet.”
Many famous faces appear in the documentary, such as Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Jaden Smith, and Timothée Chalamet.
Check out “A Man Named Scott,” streaming on Amazon Prime on November 5.
