VOODOO: VALENCIA GRACE EXCLUSIVE
Intoxicating Potion From Pop's Dark Side
With a big, bold sound and a stage presence to match, Valencia Grace is bringing her special blend of goth pop to the masses — but, like all “overnight successes,” Grace took a winding road as she discovered her voice as an artist.
Grace has been in the music industry since 2022, when she released debut single “It Was You,” an acoustic ballad. In later years, however, Grace started to switch it up — most notably, with 2025’s “En Repeat,” which saw the artist embrace a theatrical, dance-pop sound, as well as a memorable onstage look that includes white face makeup and teased hair.

“I was actually having coffee with a friend, and she said something that really stuck with me — she told me, ‘You’re a musical theatre kid, and I don’t feel like you’re honoring that in your music,’” Grace told PROVOKR of the shift. “At the time, I had already been reflecting a lot on who I was as an artist, so hearing that reminded me of where I came from. It sparked something. I started leaning into more theatrical songwriting, bigger melodies, and building out a whole new universe around my music.”
Her artistic pivot aligns with one of the most important lessons Grace has learned about the industry: “Nothing is ever final, and nothing truly defines you.”
“You’re constantly evolving as an artist, constantly discovering new parts of yourself,” she shared. “The most important thing is to trust your instincts and allow yourself to create without limitations. Growth is the only constant. You’re always changing, always becoming — and I think the more you embrace that, the more honest your artistry becomes.”

Grace is continuing to build her collection of dramatic and danceable tracks with new single “Voodoo.”
“I wrote this song almost immediately after receiving some news — it was very emotional and very fresh,” she said of the writing process. “I wrote it really quickly because I felt so intensely in that moment, and there was something powerful about getting it out right away.
Grace continued, “I shared a bit of it online, and the response was so strong that it made me even more excited to fully bring it to life. Producing it was also really special — I did a lot of it myself at home, which was a first for me in terms of starting a track from scratch in that environment. It was a very instinctive, very cathartic process.”

She teased a bigger project, saying each song is “leading toward something bigger,” but she’s “still figuring out exactly what that final form looks like.”
The artist will also take the stage at Lollapalooza this summer, which she’s “so excited” about — “Even though it’s technically my second time, it feels like the first time people are really coming to see me and discover what I do.”

Grace is focused on building a world for her listeners, explaining, “Every decision, every detail — it’s all with them in mind. I just want to keep making things better, deeper, and more meaningful for anyone who connects with what I create.”
