Netflix's Brilliant Series Criminal: UK
Who is the handsome, suave man leading season two of Netflix’s series Criminal: UK? Oh, wait, that’s Jon Snow actor Kit Harington. Season two of the anthology drama introduces a new case and four new suspects played by Harington, Kunal Nayyar, Sharon Horgan and Sophie Okonedo.
Criminal: UK shows the best part of any crime series but the one most often overlooked: the interrogation. Set in one room with many prying eyes, the detectives of the season are trying to solve the crime. Season two runs on a ticking clock where the suspects are interviewed in a certain amount of time, lending itself nicely to the 45-minute structure of each episode. Each of the characters bring something to the cold, hard table of the sleek interrogation room. The prying eyes behind the two-way mirror are led by DI Natalie Hobbs (Katherine Kelly) who are joined by team members Tony Myerscough (Lee Ingleby), Vanessa Warren (Rochenda Sandall), and Kyle Petit (Shubham Saraf).
But, of course, it’s Kit Harington who shines and pulls viewers all the way from the first episode to his closing monologue. Criminal: UK marks Harington’s first appearance since Game of Thrones. Harington did a brief stint in rehab following the popular HBO series. Harington is set to star in the upcoming Marvel movie The Eternals, which we are excited to see him in.
If you’re not caught up on Criminal: UK, we highly recommend starting with season 1. Dr. Who himself — and British TV icon — David Tenant stars and he is absolutely fabulous. Whichever season you start with, you’re going to want more of this drama. Trust us on that, PROVOKRs.
