RUBY ROSE
With 2 New Films, She Leaves Batwoman Behind

Ruby Rose is a badass, which made sense when cast in The CW’s Batwoman. Unfortunately, though, Rose is leaving the series after one season because of the long hours.
“[We] thank Ruby for her contributions to the success of our first season and wish her all the best,” Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. said. “The studio and network remain committed to its second season and long-term future and we — along with the show’s talented creative team — look forward to sharing its new direction. That includes finding a new lead actress and member of the LGBTQ community in the coming months.”

In the comic book version, Batwoman is bisexual, and Rose is part of the LGBTQ community. It’s a conscious and admirable decision to recast with an LGBTQ actress. Even though the Orange Is The New Black star won’t be our lead for season two of Batwoman, she does have roles in two new films.
Her largest upcoming project may be SAS: Red Notice. Ruby Rose stars alongside Sam Heughan in an action-packed thriller. Criminals hijack a train in an attempt to blow up the English Channel. Heughan’s character has to prevent that from happening and he crosses paths with Rose’s character on several occasions.

Also forthcoming is Doorman, another action film, but this time she is the lead. Rose stars as a woman who returns home from combat to NYC and befriends a family. When a group of thieves tries to take the family’s valuables, Rose fends off the robbers.

Both of the films are in post-production. With theaters still dark, could Ruby Rose fans be treated soon to VOD releases? Though there are no dates listed yet, PROVOKR can’t wait to see Ruby Rose kicking ass once again.
