STEAMY STREAMING: FIRST TIMES
Juno, American Pie, Hot Summer Nights + more!

Whether we want to or not, we all remember our first time. Some of us just wanted to get it over with and have that rite of passage. Others put rose petals on their beds and lit so many candles it’s amazing the house didn’t burn down. Some may have even crawled into the back of a car and just did it there. Many first times have been displayed in movies over the years, and here are some of the best:
JUNO
Talk about your worst nightmare. Most of us have thought about it before our first time: What if I get pregnant? Well, that what happens to Ellen Page in Juno with Michael Cera. Imagine having a child with the person you lost your virginity to. Scary thoughts, right? Juno is available to stream on Hulu.
HOT SUMMER NIGHTS
Timothée Chalamet as an awkward, nerdy drug dealer? Yes, that is a thing in Hot Summer Nights. His character loses his virginity to Maika Monroe in, you guessed it, a car. And it wasn’t a Cadillac. No, we’re talking about a not-so-spacious car because that’s all that teenagers drive, it seems. Pro tip: Take your mom’s minivan next time. Hot Summer Nights is available to rent on Amazon.
AMERICAN PIE
This one time at band camp… Who didn’t lose their virginity in this movie? The answer is everyone had sex. And they did it at after prom. How cliché. It definitely works for the teen narrative, and it’s a fun representation of teenage sex. American Pie is available to rent on YouTube.
CALL ME BY YOUR NAME
Timothée’s peach scene in Call Me By Your Name is so distracting that you forget he lost his virginity to a girl earlier in the film. Yeah, he didn’t always have his sight set on Armie Hammer. Timothée and Esther Garrel pop each other’s cherries next to an Italian river. Um, that seems way too perfect. Call Me By Your Name is available to stream on Starz.
TWILIGHT: BREAKING DAWN
We love Robert Pattinson. We love Kristen Stewart. We loved them together, especially in this literally bed-breaking sex scene. It was the culmination of a lot of repression, and boy oh boy did it exceed expectations. Twilight: Breaking Dawn is available to rent on YouTube.
