Elisabeth Moss breathes such authenticity into every character she plays that it is breathtaking. She is genuinely one of the greats, and all of her work is peerless, but just for funsies here is a ranked list of her top 5 performances:
1. Mad Men
She could have carried the show alone but being a gracious actor, she let Jon Hamm and the rest do their thing too.
2. Shirley
Uncanny. It is as if Shirley Jackson has been raised from the dead (the author, herself, literally loved creepy shit like that).
3. The Handmaid’s Tale
Thank God it is back! Fierce. That is all.
4. Us
Watching her play the better half, opposite Tim Heidecker, of a vapid, racist, and the murderous couple was something else. Maybe even creepier than her Shirley Jackson.
5. The Invisible Man
Elisabeth Moss in a horror movie. Two of my favorite things. She elevates the genre to art.
