Zoe Saldaña is the closest person to a sure thing in Hollywood that you can get. She is the the highest-grossing actress by box office standards of all time, having starred in big franchises like Avatar, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and many more. She slightly edged out Scarlett Johansson to claim the title of box office titan, a title she doesn’t expect to keep for long.
“It feels different because I’m a woman. I’m a proud woman of color. I’m a daughter of immigrants. People like me never even imagine breaking a record,” Saldaña told TIME magazine. “I know that this is not going to be forever. It’s only here now, until, you know, Scarlett comes up and breaks it again. As long as it’s Scarlett or another woman, I’m going to be happy. And if it’s a woman of color, I’m going to be even happier, because I know how much harder it is to shatter a ceiling.”
Along with her mega success, she still finds time to take on interesting projects, such as the lead in Paramount+’s Lioness from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. She stars alongside the legendary Nicole Kidman in the series that’s three seasons deep. The spy thriller empowers the women of its series who, are CIA operatives in the real-life Lioness program that asks women to go undercover. Lioness is only getting hotter, so if you haven’t tuned in, you should start now.
Saldaña’s move to TV is just one of the impressive things she’s done recently. After winning the Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Emilia Perez, she went on to star in another Avatar movie from legend James Cameron. With two more Avatar films on the horizon, Saldaña is sure to keep things fresh with other smaller projects mixed, like a sci-fi movie called Don’t Forget Me Tomorrow with Mark Ruffalo, a crime thriller titled Positano with Matthew McConaughey and Toni Collette, and a drama called Riverrun.
Saldaña is more than impressive with everything she does. She brings the heat and passion to all of her projects. It’s no wonder everyone loves her. We surely love watching her.
