When we last left our Killing Eve heroes? Villians? Sexually-charged homicidal cat and mouse? Eve (Sandra Oh) and Villanelle (Jodie Comer) had decided to part ways for good. Well, that’s what they’d decided, but just as the two were about to turn their backs and walk away from each other on The London Bridge—fun fact: the song London Bridge is Falling Down is not actually about the bridge, but it’s a catchy little nursery rhyme about the Queen on England dying. London Bridge is the codename for the Queen— they turned back, not able to part from the other entirely. Uh oh, this can only mean trouble. After all, as much as we love this erotically tinged duo, they are not exactly healthy for each other, or the world at large. Season 1 ended with Eve stabbing Villanelle and Villanelle returned the favor by shooting Eve in the season 2 finale, we’re left to wonder, how much more damage can these two cause to each other?

Well, we don’t have to wait too long to find out. The show is coming back for its fourth and final season on February 27, 2022. This last season, like the first three, will consist of eight episodes. As far as what we know about the plot, a brief synopsis from BBC America reads “Eve is on a revenge mission, while Villanelle has found a brand-new community in an attempt to prove she’s not a ‘monster. This season follows our extraordinary women, each driven by passion, revenge and obsession, building towards a messy, nuanced and totally glorious series finale.” Like with the last three seasons, season four will get a new showrunner in Sex Education and Secret Diary of a Call Girl alum Laura Neal, who is taking over from Suzanne Heathcote.

In addition to Oh and Comer, Fiona Shaw will return as Carolyn, who is on a mission to hunt down The Twelve and bring her son’s killer to justice. RIP Kenny (Sean Delaney), you were too pure for this world. While we wait for the exciting new season to air, spend some time getting ready for it. Maybe go back and binge the first three seasons, after all, it’s only 24 episodes. And then come back and watch the trailer for season four.
