Everyone is always talking about a new series we should be adding to our watchlist, but sometimes that leaves out the hits that we’ve all grown to love. Or maybe you’ve wanted to start a series but plan it around new content. Well, PROVOKRs, October is the start of an insane run of returning shows. There is a lot to look forward to with popular shows returning from HBO hits to cable superhero series. So what is causing this influx? Our hunch is that the shows delayed during COVID are finally ready (which means Euphoria should be coming back soon!) So here are the five best returning series coming next month.

INSECURE

Issa Rae’s Insecure started as a web series and flourished into a true TV masterpiece. The HBO comedy is often regarded as one of the channel’s best, which is why it’s so devastating that it’s coming to an end. Season 5 will be the last, and the trailer for the upcoming season taps into the longing for it to continue forever.

Insecure feels like the late twenties, early thirties version of myself,” Rae told Vogue. “I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my life. I’m flattered that people think I’m an idiot for ending it. Without a doubt, it was mostly positive feedback and I’m going to miss the show. On the other hand, I’m glad and grateful that it’s ending on our terms.”

Insecure returns on October 24.

YOU

Penn Badgely is back as the creepy Joe Goldberg in Netflix’s You, and this time he has a baby. Season 2 wrapped up with his equally crazy girlfriend (played by hottie Victoria Pedretti) announcing she’s pregnant. Who knows what kind of trouble the couple will get into together. Perhaps Joe will find another partner in crime. Either way, the tease offers us a glimpse into the creepy narration we can expect from our lead this season.

You returns on October 15.

SUCCESSION

It’s FINALLY back! HBO’s Succession earned top honors at the Emmys last year, and for a good reason. Season 2 ended with Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong) throwing his dad under the bus for scandals at his company. So now everyone must deal with the repercussions. Of course, the battle to replace Logan Roy (Brian Cox) continues.

Succession returns on October 17.

CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM

Larry David’s sporadic comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm returns for season 11. The series started back in 2000 and featured David playing himself among an iconic cast (like Cheryl Hines). Luckily we haven’t gone too long without a season, and it’s not the most extended break. We’re just glad to have David return to our screens.

There is no trailer or specific return date for the HBO series.

BATWOMAN

There will be no lead changes in this season of Batwoman, PROVOKRs. Javicia Leslie will return as our caped crusader Ryan Wilder in season three of the CW series. This season a new villain enters the picture: Poison Ivy (played by Bridget Regan). By the looks of the trailer, it’s going to be one hell of a season.

Batwoman returns on October 13.
